 Irena Sendler is recently died 98 years old. This woman is a heroin. Almost unknown. Yet ! During the second world war she asked to work in the Warsaw Ghetto (Varsovie) as a plumber and locksmith (!) She knew the Nazi extermination plans against the Jews*, she was German. She had an idea: to hid children in the bottom of her "tool box" she carried in her vehicle, or in and a large bag (for older children). She also had a dog that she trained to bark when German soldiers controlled the entry and exit of the ghetto ! in order to cover the noise that children could make. So she saved 2,500 children. She was arrested and tortured by the Nazis (they break her legs and arms and more again.) 

It is not all: Irena kept all the names of the children in a glass jar buried behind a tree in her garden and after the war, tried to locate their parents, but most were killed, gassed. So, children were placed in foster care or have been adopted. Last year she was proposed for the Nobel Peace but that is Al Gore who was awarded for his film on global warming, a good one indeed but it would be just to give both the price to Irena and him. In her memory 63 years later I participate in this anniversary by forwarding this message. Do the same. We hope that it will be read by over 40 million people worldwide. Send it to everyone. *Question: many German, French (and so on..) said they did not know anything about the massacres of jews, roma, gypsies.. and so on (link).. by the Nazis (link with "Jasenovac") in french.. but the  pictures are "speaking". Indian women, led by Sanpat-pal, who belongs to a lower "caste" (as formerly Phoolan Devi -she was killed by a contract-) the "gang pink saris", have decided, because the policemen are not doing their job (the laws exist but they are corrupted) against for example hitters men, the poor and "Dalit".. to do so themselves. They go from village to village, do justice and sometimes knock the recalcitrants. Between Zorro and Robin Hood, they have an huge love audience among the people especially woman. Bravo. She was abandoned and "given" to families who had not taken cared of her [just for the money, employed by DDASS, social department for children and health], tried to find her parents, found them! when she was 17... and was once again rejected by them, violently... then drifted [drugs, alcohol] until her dead, at 30. Nobody could help her and among her family, nobody want to do it because she made them ashamed, for she was the symbol of the "degradation" (!) of her mother [despite she was beautifull, smiling, shiny, more than their others grandchildren whose they take great care!].. her mother who had been, her also, rejected since the birth of the baby, without work nor diplomas [may-be she became prostitute, nobody had never seen her again.] Result : a "good" catholic family now in social ascension, and two dead. Child marriage in Yemen, and risks to die for the child-bride in childbirth!!!

A 12-year-old Yemeni girl, who was forced into marriage, died during a painful childbirth that also killed her baby. Fawziya Ammodi struggled for three days in labour before dying of severe bleeding at a hospital on Friday. Although the cause of her death was lack of medical care, the real case was the lack of education in Yemen and the fact that child marriages keep happening. Born into an impoverished family she was forced to drop out of school and married off to a 24-year-old man last year. Child brides are commonplace in Yemen, especially in the Red Sea Coast where tribal customs hold sway. Hodeidah is the fourth largest city and an important port. More than half of all young Yemeni girls are married off before the age of 18 many times to older men, sometimes with more than one wife, according to a study by Sanaa University. The reasons vary. Sometimes, financially-strapped parents offer up their daughters for money, hefty dowries. The girls are no longer a financial or moral burden to them. And often parents will extract a promise from the husband to wait until the girl is older to consummate the marriage. When she becomes pregnant, the risks for her and her baby is to die. "Girls who give birth before the age of 15 are five times more likely to die in childbirth than women in their 20s. The Yemeni child brides came to the forefront in 2008 with 10-year-old Nujood Ali who was pulled out of school and married, beaten and raped within weeks of the ceremony. To escape, she hailed a taxi, the first time in her life, to get across town to the central courthouse where she sat on a bench and demanded to see a judge. After a well-publicized trial, she was granted a divorce. The Yemeni parliament tried in February to pass a law setting the minimum marriage age at 17 but the measure has not succeed because many parliamentarians argued it violates sharia which does not stipulate a minimum age.
